Logic Lifeline not the only place claiming Global Warming is a religion

Debra Saunders writes an excellent article titled Global Warming Fever. The underlying point she makes is that the claims made by Al Gore about man causing global warming that will doom the planet is all based on belief. So basically like me, Saunders is claiming that the Global Warming crowd is engaging in a religion. Here are some of the highlights that speak for themself:

Former Veep Al Gore's new movie, "An Inconvenient Truth," however, shows how unscientific -- and downright faith-based -- the left has become.
There are a number of well-known scientists who don't believe that global warming is human-induced, or who believe that if it is, it is not catastrophic.
Hurricane expert William Gray of Colorado State University believes the Earth will start to cool within 10 years.
Neil Frank, former director of the National Hurricane Center, told The Washington Post that global warming is "a hoax."
Climate scientist Robert Lindzen of MIT believes that clouds and water vapor will counteract greenhouse gas emissions.
I thought Gore's chart comparing carbon-dioxide increases to temperature spikes was dramatic. But because Gore omits what he does not want to see, I have to listen to former NASA scientist Roy Spencer of the University of Alabama, when he tells me: "It is an alarming chart, but there are so many alternative explanations for what he's showing. He's giving it one possible explanation and making it sound like the only explanation." Spencer says it is "more likely" that the higher temperatures increased carbon dioxide levels.
Duh. Warmer climate means more vegetation growth which puts out more carbon dioxide. You can miss the forest for the trees in scenarios like that one.

Besides, whenever the establishment says you have to believe something, you want people who question the establishment. Or as global cooling guru Gray once said, "Consensus science isn't science."
Now there is the crux of the matter. How many Global Warming proponents do you see who welcome other opinions. The more you look at it, the more you see that this subject is being treated as religious dogma. No alternative explanations or theories are welcome. Instead of meeting on Sundays, however, they hold church every day.

Too bad about Rove we can all only hope that this evil agent of The Antichrist suffers the same fate as his mentor and GOP henchman Lee Atwater.

So, Stephen Hawking, one of the most brilliant people in the world on a par with Einstien believes in Global Warming and all you GOPers don't. I bet if Global Warming was proven via JUNK SCIENCE like Intelligent Design you'd take another look.

Hawking says humans must go into space

"It is important for the human race to spread out into space for the survival of the species," Hawking said. "Life on Earth is at the ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as sudden global warming, nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus or other dangers we have not yet thought of."

The key word here is "believes". Are you claiming that Hawking is so brilliant he is infallible? Sure, he has exhibited quite a brilliant mind. I am not certain if he has ever actually studied and/or written on global warming in detail. If he has, I would be interested in reading it.

Many of the most brilliant human minds of any generation you want to look at have believed incorrect theories and have later been proven wrong. That doesn't mean we dismiss them as unintelligent, but we simply understand that even the most brilliant of people are still people, and can be wrong.

Would that be like Knowing that Iraq has WMDs and the belief that you can help Democracy take root in the Middle East?? If it is the Theory of Global Warming maybe flawed, but the belief in it never cost the lives of people and put the country in the hole Financially. Right?

It may be that the Global Warming theory never cost lives, but enacting Kyoto would have put us in a big financial hole. i realize we are in a financial hole, but with the strong economy, some financial discipline could go a long way if we act soon.

I'm sorry. I thought we were talking about brilliant minds and scientific theories, not incredibly stupid, big-oil frat boys from low-IQ-inhabited red states with no battle strategy and no exit plan. The fact that you made that jump tells me you may know something about President Bush that you have heretofore been unwilling to admit.

What a horrible thing to say. As much as I loathe Biden's politics, I sincerely hoped that he would make a full recovery from his brain surgery several years ago. And I was truly glad that he did.

Never once would I wish anything like that on him, Howard Dean, Jack Murtha, John Kerry, et al. I hope you are joking, although I think it's a poor excuse for a joke. Politcs is one thing, but human lives are another.

That didn't stop Bush from sending Men and Women of the USA to their DOOM in Iraq on half truths and Lies or just bad Intel and for Rove to use it as Parisan politics to win the Fall elections. Both from a couple of Cut and Run DRAFT DODGERS.

    Boy, are you naive!!!!

No sir, I don't think so. I think I have been in the world a little longer and seen a hell of a lot more, than you.

Those soldiers willingly joined the military, the vast majority of them AFTER 9/11. But beyond that, no matter what anyone else does in this world, it does NOT excuse you for your hateful and despicable comment concerning Karl Rove.

Be careful that what you wish for another, for it may become the very calamity that you, or someone you care about, will someday face.
