They Call Her Stumbles

While many politicians stumble here and there in their career, I find it utterly amazing that so far Nancy Pelosi has done nothing but stumble since the election and vote made her the Speaker of the House in waiting. The sad and scary thing is that her stumbles are not trivial. In fact they reveal a serious lack in judgement accompanied by a catty nature and striking ignorance. Here is the rundown so far:

- After claiming the Dems would be running the most ethical Congress in history, Pelosi supported the election of Jack Murtha for the #2 position in the House. Only after the election did the media reveal the stench of corruption that surrounds Murtha. Pelosi's fellow Dems spared her from the ultimate embarrassment of Murtha, but bloodied her nose in the process.

- We have heard that the testosterone driven ego of male politicians are a major cause in many of the problems around the world. Perhaps this is true, but Pelosi's reluctance to select Jane Harmon to head the House Intelligence Committee due to the bad blood between the two reveals problems that can occur when a catty female politician is in power.

- Instead of selecting Harmon, Pelosi was willing to consider putting formerly impeached judge Alcee Hastings in the position. She and other key Dems had voted for his impeachment, but now seemed to think him worthy of this critical position involving our national security. Throughout the discussion of Hastings consideration, Pelosi did not rule him out until it became obvious how damaging the choice would be.

- The latest stumble is a recent statement regarding Iraq and Al Qaeda. Having stated the mantra that there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq before 9/11 so many times, Pelosi had a knee-jerk reaction recently against Bush when he claimed that Al Qaeda was a factor in the insurgency. There is no debate that Al Qaeda has been a major factor in Iraq in recent years. Ten days before Pelosi makes this idiotic claim, Al Qaeda had released a video making the claim that they had 12,000 members fighting in Iraq. (Hat Tip: Boortz)

Nancy Pelosi is now officially known here as the Stumbler. While most politicians may be able to point to some highlights, I cannot think of one highlight since being named Minority Leader. You would think that you could point to the recent election as a highlight, but if you recall, Nancy was in hiding the last weeks of the campaign to avoid hurting it. We have seen someone who is vain, shallow, catty, hypocritical, ignorant and having poor judgement. All this before day one of being House Speaker.

    AICS.....

Your post has real problems... it first states the proposition that NP is a stumbler. Then you cite recorded facts to support your proposition. Then you repeat the proposition. I'm curious to see the various spins to be offered to make NP an effective and ethical leader.

Yep, I'd say you will have real problems with this one.

    hammer,

Like using corn to fish for trout, using facts to support a proposition should be outlawed. It is simply too effective.

No problem, we'll just use the same standard the GOP Lovers here use to Make Bush look competent and a success..that way there is NO WAY she or anyone else can look like a FU and a Moron.

    Sound Good DITTOHEADS??

Since AICS is so gung-ho about facts, why not try using some?

We're now treated to all the bloviating about "stench of corruption" about Murtha, while all along blogs like this doggedly supported DeLay.

Unlike DeLay, Murtha has never been indicted for corruption.

And unlike braindead party loyalty or bribery like the Republicans favor, Dems have debate and voting to pick their people. Remember that the only reason Blunt took over after DeLay was because Hastert was afraid of getting a bloody nose backing the man he wanted. So Pelosi showed courage and Hastert was a coward. I'd rather have someone with a spine being 3rd in line for the presidency than someone unwilling to join a fight and who couldn't cower and hide fast enough after the Foley thing exploded onto the scene.

    More?

The name is Harman, not Harmon. But this fact will matter less to you now that Reyes has the job, which is definitely not a stumble that Pelosi has chosen a former military and border patrol man for the job.

And exactly what is this supposed "knee jerk reaction stumble" that Pelosi just made against Bush?

If you recalled truthfully, you would recall that Pelosi was actively campaigning for Democrats in the last weeks of the campaign. Saying she "had gone missing" was an unsubstantiated RNC talking point so egregious that even Chris Wallace challenged John Boehner on national TV about it.

"We have seen someone who is vain, shallow, catty, hypocritical, ignorant and having poor judgement."

She really gets under your skin, doesn't she?

They call him the Stumbler. Unable to get his facts straight, he stumbles through his posts, playing fast and loose with the truth, making unsubstantiated claims and hoping no one will call him on it. Welcome to his blog.

    Patriot,

We have Murtha on tape saying he might consider a bribe in the future.
The fact that he is still allowed to speak for Dems speaks volumes about their integrity.

Trying again after posting what was a somewhat non-sensical comment, due to the lack of caffiene in the system.

I am afraid that she may soon be known as, Implodi Pelosi. She owes a lot of favors to a lot of people. It will be interesting to see if she can keep everyone that worked hard to get her there, happy.

Good question!!! If she follows Bush's lead, I mean like paying off Big Oil,Big Pharma, Haliburton, The Military Industrial Complex and a Myriad of Appiontees through Cronyism ex HECKUVA JOB BROWNIE all at taxpayer expense of course, she should have no problem.

Truly, payoffing and greasing those that support you is one of the few things CHIMPUS MAXIMUS has succeeded at...unfortunately, for us UNCONNECTED tax payers, all at our expense and the expense of future generations of Americans.

So, what NEW EXCUSE do you guys have for that?

Who on the conservative side tries to make excuses for irrational spending? We are all angry about how Bush and a GOP congress raised spending to its currently irresponsible level. I have said that many times here and at other blogs.

I have also said I do not expect a Dem congress to be any more responsible fiscally. We will see if the Stumbler and her entourage prove me wrong next year.
