Oil Profits and a Little Perspective - 3

Here are the final pictures I will be posting on this. I have about 6 more, but from these you can get the idea of the immense wealth going to these countries.

This thing is the size of a small city. It's obscene to think that they lavish in such splendor, when their Arab brothers and sisters in the Palestinian territory are so impoverished. And then, they have the nerve to proclaim that it's Israel's fault.

You hit the nail on the head. The removal of funding to Palestine's Hamas lead government can easily be replaced by their Arab "friends" making money hand over fist selling us oil.

Plus there will be plenty left over to help other impoverished nations and assist in the African AIDS crisis.

They could have a new slogan, "Sell a Bentley, save a village"

"Sell a Bentley, save a village"

    I like it. It's catchy.

Save a village cut off American Tax dollars going to Israel!

I not not know where you got the warped idea all the Middle East is Rich?

    It isn't!

I not not know where you got the warped idea all the Middle East is Rich?

I made specific reference to which middle-eastern countries have great wealth and they are all members of OPEC. I did not claim ALL, yet you stretched what I said into that. I do not claim EVERY one in the OPEC countries either. The point is nobody can deny there is an incredible amount of wealth flowing into these oil rich countries. It may only flow to a portion of the populace, but it does indeed flow. This is not called warped, it is called math. Just do the math at the price of oil per barrel.

My point is that there are more fat cats than the US taxpayer to go to for money, yet not one word of criticism for them. This is called hypocrisy.

I can see you know little about OPEC and the illegal buying and selling going on. It isn’t the oil countries that are making gas prices in the USA for instance go up. As usual I could tell you what is really going on but you wouldn’t believe me.

As for those countries you named you really have no idea what is really going on in these countries not as you said do the math because your calculator must be broken?

  • At 5:36 PM, Blogger All_I_Can_Stands said…

Once again you keep putting words in my mouth that I did not say. I have not said anything in these posts about gas prices. You can look at a previous post to get that.

I am talking about oil that has averaged about $70 per barrel for some time now. Multiply $70 times the number of barrels we get from OPEC and that is the math I am talking about.

Of course if you are going to claim we get our oil from them dignificantly cheaper than the going rate of $70 then I would be interested in hearing about it. The fact is that $30 times the number of barrels we and the rest of the world get from OPEC is still a great amount of money.

As for telling me what is really going on and my not believing you, I have always been ready to listen. Don't criticize me because I don't simply take your word for things. All I ask is that you provide some kind of support for what you say. And support does not mean pointing to someone else saying the same things you say without providing support.

Also, I saw some of related material on your blog. I will not be commenting on your blog due to the moderation being turned on. Too much censorship.

Anyway, just like any liberal you want to have it both ways. You claim that not ALL of the countries I described have the great wealth I describe. Even on your website you talk about buying two pairs of NIKE shoes with no health care. The point I make is that not all Americans have great wealth either. I certainly do not. So not all Americans have great wealth and not all middle easterners have great wealth. Yet the US is expected to provide aid to Palestine and other causes around the world and the middle-east is not.

My point is that the Arab brothers of the Palestinians have a greater obligation than we do to give aid and I don't see much of it happening.

I am not going to comment much because you never listen and you tend to tire me with your closed mind, please do not defend yourself because I really do not care to hear repeats. As for the gas situation I was making an example which you apparently did not understand. There is much going on that is not being told to the American public to why you people are being robbed. And I know if I supplied you with truth of what is really going on you would accuse me with your usual negative rhetoric. Not once have you really cared to listen to me, like I mentioned to my husband, you wish me to take your hand and walk you through the garden and show you; instead of excepting or rechecking the information yourself.

I am actually sad that people like you are being subjected to terrible things. And yes I did understand everything you said. I never said the American’s where rich either, I was talking money management. And yes I have actually seen people do what I made as an example on my blog. Also I did not mention two pairs of Nikes! But I guessing you live in a fairly nice home and have a late model car in the drive way. Many people in the world do not, they are not even allowed in some places to have a driver’s license.

I do not consider myself a liberal or anything. I do not label myself like apparently you Americans do. But since the definition of a Liberal is actually nice, I thank you. Because I actually believe in helping people and wish everyone in the world to have the life God intended.

If you also check many Arab countries as you call them have put money in banks to help the Palestinian people but the USA put a type of freeze so the money can not be used. If you looked hard in my blog you will find the information, try looking under the heading “Aid to Palestine.”

Accusing me of censorship is a joke because of people like you that is Anti-Palestine. Because it never stopped you in the past of supplying your hateful criticisms towards information you know little about.

Well, I hope I responding to everything you made remarks about and please do me a favor to help yourself; learn about the world you live in and it’s people you will find the world is actually a very interesting place. And please do not feel insulted, but you have much to learn in appreciation for this beautiful world.

Housewife, on your blog you wrote:

    Does it sound right?
That you buy another pair of Nikes
    Or Gucci
    Then worry about health care
And what if Social security fails?

My mistake if I interpreted "another" to equal two pairs. I guess you meant replacing the old pair.

please do not defend yourself because I really do not care to hear repeats.
I will always defend myself. Nobody is twisting your arm to read.

You accuse me of being close minded. I must say that in my opinion you are very closed minded. Additionally, you are ultra-sensitive getting too easily offended for all that you dish out to me.

This cop-out answer of yours holds no water. You have yet to provide one shred of support for the claims you have made. Instead of attempting to do so you do one of three things:

    1) claim you will not bother because I will not listen. you have not said anything yet except your opinion with no details
    2) claim that supporting your arguments is the equivalent of holding my hand through the garden
    3) answer in a language you know I do not read

If you have something to support what you say, say it. My track record on this blog for listening to what people say is very good. I have both apologized and admitted I was wrong on several occassions.

Accusing me of censorship is a joke because of people like you that is Anti-Palestine.

It is no joke. I have left comments on your blog and checked back for days and they never get past your moderation. This is called censorship. I am not going to go through the trouble of writing and then have it censored.

As for your blog, I am not being critical. You are very attentive to it and provide a lot of material. That is the thing. There is so much material that seems unrelated to the topics I have asked about that it would take more time than I have to extract the salient points. This you interpret as I need my hand held. When I ask for specifics, that would be the time to provide concise material, not provide reams of material to wade through.

And please do not feel insulted, but you have much to learn in appreciation for this beautiful world.

I do not feel insulted, I simply disagree. I have been exposed to many, many different opinions and viewpoints. As I stated to you in the past I read material from all over the world. I think perhaps you may need some more exposure to some other viewpoints. The links I have on my blog are a good start. They support their opinions in a very documented manner as do I.

Just come out and tell me how we are being robbed at the gas tank and support it. I am very interested.

We can have a nice dialogue. You are negative and repetitive and closed minded yet all you do is accuse me of these things. We could save a lot of time by simply discussing the issues and leaving out the personal remarks that you somehow think is a substitute for logic and reason.

In a way I do apologize, one thing because you and I do think differently. I guess, I will never understand Western thinking any more then you will understand ours in the East. We are vastly different in many ways and I have followed your page more then I think you realize.

As for the gasoline situation it is common knowledge in the East what is really happening, but I got to thinking you may not be able to find the information living in the West. And I know if I just tell you, you would find it hard to believe so lest just leave it. Just I will tell you it isn’t the Middle East that is making the prices high. Something you need to understand, Muslims are not used to have their word’s challenged because most of us stand by our honesty as I do and I am sure you do too.

Not being unkind, but I am thinking you have not quite been exposed to people like us; many people in the world haven’t. As for anyone being closed minded, I am not going to further regulate what my past is because you would find it over whelming I think; it actually sadness me most people do. For in my culture we are taught not to boast. I am not accusing you of this either.

As for accusing me of censorship, I did not feel that assassinating my character was appropriate for an educational page; because that is not what the blog page is about. It is strictly, to teach about my country and that which affects it towards the global condition. And I have to admit some of the terrible things said towards Muslims, that I have thought was do to lack of knowledge because disagreements sometimes is spurned my lack of knowledge.

So in the future I would hope we can come by a peaceful agree or disagree scenario.

Housewife, this is the tone I prefer to dialogue at. I too will apologize for the negative tone I have addressed you with. I think you are right about the East/West thing. I work with many from Eastern culture. I enjoy working with them, but there is often times we do not think on the same wavelength.

I like the idea of having our honesty accepted. In the US it used to be that a man's word was bond. Sadly, this is no longer the case. I don't know where things went astray from that, but at some point it became what it is where people demand verification. That is our new cultural standard.

I will withdraw the charge of censorship. I don't recall what I said in my posts but you felt it did not belong on your blog and I will accept that.

From your words and alluding to it on your blog, you have experienced personal loss in the violence. I am not without feeling and would never purposefully say anything that would diminish that loss or dishonor it.

If you have read any of the other comments you will see some exchanges between me and people like Joe Shmoe, paw, Bill_of_Rights and others that disagree with me. We disagree, but I also like them personally as much as I can know about them. The same goes for you. I have detected a personal side to you I find likeable even if we do disagree.

Finally, I thirst for knowledge and fear being duped. That combination makes me willing to listen to what you have to say. I will be looking at your blog most days.

I do have to agree that I to have seen a side of you that I find very favorable and think maybe we both started off on the wrong foot. I do not understand these days why there is so much hate towards people that are different and in this I guess I have learned to be on a defense and I do have to admit that on our first exchanges of messages that I felt you was one of those and it actually saddened me, for I believe that you being Christian and I Muslim shouldn’t butt heads but appreciate each other’s differences.

Also, with the added situation of me being Palestinian and so much lack of knowledge towards the conflict in my country which I see in the West that I felt people should actually see the Palestinian side, not that I am trying to dupe anyone like you mentioned. For to falsify anything is not of God but of Satan and to me this is very bad.

Also, you need to understand I do not know how to be dishonest or as again you put it to dupe anyone. I just wish the horrible mess the world has gotten itself into to stop because everything I understand it is a grave mistake. Otherwise, I do not wish for people’s blood to keep being heated up and we all end up in a full scale global war that everyone is the loser.

So like I mentioned to you previously, I started the blog page to educate on the actual conditions in Palestine, for people to understand Islam because it seems so much misunderstanding is occurring for what ever reason. To teach who the Palestinian people really are like, their conditions and how it is affecting the major issue of what is going on in our world. Also I must admit I do try to help the Americans because I believe in many ways you are in trouble and I do not wish this either; even though America is considered the enemy too many people in the world. And from what I have seen, so much is being kept from you so in this regards to me this where you are being deceived.

I actually believe that if people put their heads together and not fight that what has happened and very well will happen if we do not change it that we could possibly destroy much of the world. I know what war is like and I do appreciate your respect towards me on this issue, but I do not wish people to be hurt or die. Not just in my country but with all people their should be peace.

Something, I think you will find interesting is before the State of Israel Jews, Christians and Muslims lived side by side in peace. When the Zionist invasion came, the Zionist not only murdered Muslims; they also murdered Christians and Jews. And I find this reprehensible. Because we are suppose to live together in peace with respect of each other. Also, if you read in places on my blog you will see the difference of true Jews and how they feel about the Zionist State and how the Zionist actually are; there is great differences.

And so you understand I do have friends that are Jewish and Christian and I appreciate them very much. Also, I do hope I have answered things towards us being in more agreement that the butting heads thing. Please take care.

i enjoyed reading this entertaining exchange, AICS. I've checked in on your site off and on the last few months after coming across the Chip of Logic a few months back and having a nice conversation about drugs. While I don't agree with some of your views, I do like your approach of reason and logic - our world needs much more of it.

mark, thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comments. Chip kindof fizzled out after a few posts. I hope to get him going again some day.
