Democrats Promote Thuggery

According to the New York Sun the Democrats are pushing an initiative that will remove the need for a secret ballot when voting to form a union. According to the story:
Congressional Democrats and labor unions are moving forward with legislation to replace secret-ballot votes on unionization with a petition-based system, despite misgivings from some labor leaders that the measure has virtually no chance of becoming law while President Bush is in office.
This is a raw attempt designed to create more unions whether they want a union or not. How is this the case and what is wrong with it? According to the story:
Republicans contend that the title of the bill is Orwellian because the measure would make workers subject to intimidation by union organizers who would know whether an individual worker signed the petition or refused to do so.

So a big thug comes up to you with two other big thugs standing behind him and shoves a petition under your nose. Do you think this is an environment that encourages you to act the way you want or the way they want? Many often sign the petition and then vote against forming the union when they can safely do so in secrecy. There are basically two choices here:

1) Allow unionization within an environment that is full of intimidation.
2) Keep unionization as it is where it is only formed from the results of secret ballots.

Of course which side are the Dems on? The thug side of course. What person in their right mind would look at these two choices and think that the first is best for the individual. Only a Democrat would look at this and pick #1 because it is better for Democrats. They sure do care about people, don't they. A labor group tries to spin the situation:

The director of the labor extension program at Rutgers University, Adrienne Eaton, said current labor laws favor employers and the new legislation would help reverse those advantages.

"It wouldn't cure them all, of course, but it would certainly make organizing substantially easier," she said. "The current system allows employers to mount coercive campaigns against unionization.

This last statement is laughable. It assumes that unions do not also engage in heavy handed campaigns in favor of unionization. The fact is that no matter how much coercion from either side, in the secrecy of the ballot box a worker will vote the way he/she wants to vote. The new rules would simply eliminate employer coercion while leaving AND increasing union coercion.

While many currently take the sign and vote against approach, it is likely that many will choose not to sign. This will no doubt result in violence. People will be injured and/or killed as a result of this change if it ever passes. Democrats don't care who gets hurt or killed. It is obvious that they are targeting Walmart. They want their prize and they want it now. If some have to die for that, it is their tough luck.

The Democrat Party has always promoted thuggery, because the union thugs always gave them lots of money. They're just getting more brazen about it now.

Democrat Party: They're for the little guy. Riiiiiiiight!!!

And the GOP really cares about the Middle Class and those that have to work for a living as they have spent the country into the ground. Riiiiiiiight!!!

And now that the Dems are in office we are going to see them cut, cut, cut spending to the bone. Riiiiight!!!

Sorry Joe but when these next two years are over you are going to be more disappointed with the Dems than you ever were with Bush and the GOP. You may never admit it, but you will be. Pelosi and Reid give cause nearly every day for their supporters to cringe, don't they? I get a laugh every day thinking of how the left must be smacking their foreheads over the stumbles and fumbles of the Dems.

You keep dreaming the dream or is that the NIGHTMARE that the rest of you GOP Pawns woke up from in the last election. Face it Bush is a FAILURE plain and simple. Iraq is a lost cause, he and his admin. Lied us into this mess and the Pentagon and the CIA cooked the books at the behest of BUSHCO to get us there, now all the Red Staters that supported this debacle and the godly Idiot that engineered it are cannon fodder for this generations version of Vietnam and Afghan. is not far behind.

Your CEO pres has ran the country into the ground with our ass owed lock, stock and barrel to China and the India. Bush will leave this country like he did every company he every touched out in the real world i.e. in a shambles and unfortunately for us it will take decades to undo the damage as this is one time Daddy and all his rich connections won’t be able to straighten things out and it will be left for the average stiff to pay the bill and fight the wars that this jackass and liar started through his Failed and Flawed policies.

Yes, the nation tried it your way for the last six years and Bush and the GOP took it to a worse place then they found it.

There are two years left in this Morons failed Admin with plenty of time for more investigations to prove what is already obvious for even the most inbred red stater to see I.e. this is the worst presidency since Nixon. And like Nixon Bush will set the Evil GOP agenda back decades.

But then again feel free to list ALL THOSE BUSH/GOP Successes...I'm waiting

    Joe,

You have an interesting silent approach when it comes to the Dems. While I would not expect you to post anything against them, when they are brought up in a comment as directly as I did and you avoid the subject like the plague I am confident I have struck a sore nerve. The Dems are beginning to disappoint you aren't they. That is step 1 after denial. Next step is they will start to embarrass you big time.

    Pal,
You should know by now that I have no faith in any of those WHORES..Dem or REP. in Washington. The sooner we have a multi party system in this country the better. Then maybe the voice of the people will be heard over the Money of the vested interests and corporations.

That Idiot from Crawford is the only reason I started a Blog and still remain in the discourse. For me it has always been about the TOTAL POLITICAL RUIN OF G.W. BUSH. I will say until my dieing breath that this lying and inarticulate Idiot was the worst President of my lifetime..or does the GOP have another GOLDEN BOY for '08 lined up??

Well Joe at least you admit that you are purposefully putting blinders on when it comes to the incredible shortcomings of anyone but Bush.

I do wonder what you are going to do come 2009 when Bush leaves office. Pick another single politician to hate and rail against? Or are you monogamous when it comes to political hatred and Bush is your lifetime "fling"?

As you know, I am very pro-Union, at least my Unions.. but it's surprising that the Dems are trying to initiate such a bill. Being as pro-Union as they are. Doesn't make sense.

And if I wasn't in the ent. industry and working at a company that was faced with a decision of whether to unionize or not I would NOT want my vote to be public knowledge, whether it was to join or not.

    Incognito,

I have a feeling that the unions in the ent. industry are not in the same thug category as those like the Teamsters. So I will overlook your pro-union stance. :)I was in the Teamsters for about 8 years, and no doubt about it thuggery was alive and well then.
