Don't like Israel's actions in Lebanon? Just Blame Bush!

AFP reports thousands protesting the "US backed" Israeli action in Lebanon and Palestinian states. The protest in Washington took place outside the White House. Quotes from several of the protestors showed that the bulk of their anger was aimed at Bush and the US, even though Bush is not the one invading Lebanon. This, of course, should not be surprising, since Bush has been blamed for virtually everything. He's been blamed for 9/11, though he did not personally fly planes into buildings. He's been blamed for Katrina, though he claims he couldn't get his hurricane-making machine working that week. He's been blamed for global warming, though he claims winter is one of his favorite seasons. And now there are reports that Hawaii's Mt. Kilauea is erupting as it has been for the past 23 years. This, of course, can be pinned on Bush as well, though he claims that Hawaii is his favorite place to visit outside the US.

The US Government has tremendous influence over Israel, so yes it is indeed fair to demand Bush put his foot down on the conflict.

Listen, when the US supplies Israel with all the bombs and military equipment, it's almost the same as if they invaded Lebanon themselves. With all the financial support the US gives Israel they are indeed responsible for what Israel does.

So don't come here and say that Bush is totally innocent. Oh how he wanted this war, he thought it was really convenient that Israel could take out their common enemy, Hezbollah. Only problem, it wasn't as easy as they always think it is...

So yes, Bush is covered in blood and guilt from all the dead innocent Lebanese civilians.

I am still waiting for someone to make the connection about the timing and the direct trigger for this conflagaration. Bush instructed the CIA who in turn ordered ththeir agent Nasrallah to instigate this conflict so as to allow Israel to invade Lebanon and then pull out after a few weeks. This will so inflame Ahmadinajad that he will retaliate by bombing Israel on August 22, 2006 which in turn will be the start of Armageddon.

Isn't Putin responsible for anything? AFter all, the Katyusha rockets started in Russia and got to Hezbollah by way of Iran and Syria.

But no, it must still be Bush's fault for provoking the Russians to sell the Katyushas in the first place.

    BDS at its finest...

    merete,

So if the US sells bombs and military equipment to a sovereign nation, the US has the authority to tell that sovereign nation how to use those weapons? That reminds me of when I was a kid. "OK, Johnny, I'll trade this baseball card with you, but only if you don't ever let Jimmy look at it, because I don't like Jimmy."

    fkab,

You're right, the US does have influence with Israel, and I recall Bush on several occasions over the past five years asking Israel to use restraint when retaliating against her enemies. I also recall that the Bush administration has been diligently working on a peace agreement with France, Israel, and Lebanon, as well as others, and that a cease-fire has been agreed upon. Not bad after only one month of fighting.

    ghassan,

I'm just wondering what kind of ghas you're running on. I'll be looking forward to August 22 to see if your prediction has anything to it.

R2W, How can you compare bombs to base ball cards! Where the hell is the logic in that? I wont even to bother answer that.

You seem a little dissapointed that the war lasted "only" for one month. Well, I am sure you are in for some more action. You'll probably be surprised when it happens on your home turf. You'll scratch your head while you ask youself "I wonder why they hate us so much?!" "WHY?" "What did we do to piss them off this much?"

You can't just sell weapons to Israel and expect them not to be used. The US had the power to stop this war in the first place but chose not to. Russia was so pissed off at the US coming up with the first POS resolution that they said they'll write one if the US was not able to. Condi obviously wanted to entertain and show how brilliant she is as a piano player instead of making peace. It dragged and it dragged and it dragged and after a whole bloody month they managed to stop it. Bush prayed Hezbollah would lose and waited until the pressure from the rest of the world was too much to handle, he realised they had lost and finally said "&%##@@, Ok then, let's stop the war".

Now, payback is a bitch we all know that. Now they managed to piss off hundreds and thousands of people in the Middle East. Making more enemies, that's all these governments seems to do, US and Israel.

    RWA,

So because a ceasefire has been agreed upon, you believe that means Israel got their A** kicked? I don't see it that way as Israel was not the one begging for the ceasefire, but thanks for the input.

    merete,

I didn't compare bombs to baseball cards. I compared your mentality of one nation having the authority to tell another nation what they can do with the weapons they've sold them, with the forth grade mentality of having the authority to tell a friend what he must do with something that is now his property.

You believe I am dissapointed that the fighting only lasted a month? That belief comes not from what I actually wrote, but from your gross misinterpretation of what I wrote.
