Light blog alert
I need a few days to attend to other matters. The news is consumed with the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. Unless I think I can bring something unique to the discussion as events unfold I am not likely to post on it at this time. I will be monitoring the comments and responding as needed.
Speaking of comments, Blogger sends me an email when anyone adds a comment. The bad thing is that they do not send the title to the post. So when anyone responds to an old comment it can be fun searching through all of the comments to find the one they responded too. Once FKAB added a comment to a months old post and it took me 20 minutes to find the thing. After I responded, he replied to it and I had to go find it again.
Since Blogger is free, I can't complain too much so I guess that is a suggestion instead of a complaint. Riiight.

Since we are bogged down in Iraq and Afgahnistan, the military is maxed out and streched thin, the country is mired in debt and we are on the Brink of WW3, do you think it maybe time to raise taxes and reinstate the draft???? Or will this be another wait and see by Bush ...like Katrina?

It took me a long time to figure it out, but if you look at the bottom of the email you get when we post a comment, there will be a link to that particular post that was commented on. It's in disguise, though, because it just says your blog name. But don't be fooled! Click on your blog name at the bottom of the email, and you will be magically transported to just the right place to see the comment and to be ready to reply.
Why they don't teach that in Blogger school is beyond me!

welcome. I saw you...shall we say elsewhere. I believe it is clear from my blog that I support Israel. I won't however be praticipating in the conflict.
It is obvious that the concept of giving land back in exchange for "peace" has been a dismal failure.
Sometimes all the best efforts at diplomacy do not work. In this case there seem to be 2 sides that will never agree. Since the conflict has already begun, hopefully it will accomplish something positive so the loss of life on both sides might have some meaning.

aics, I have been following your postings and conversations (mostly as an observer) for "a while" now and I find your writing to be quite analytical and insightful. Your readers and commentators are, to say the least, a colorful and enjoyable bunch.
